4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Description of the methodologies to be used:

A) Lectures in large group. Their aim is to introduce the information related to the subject, trying to:

  •   Establish the limits of the field of study
  •   Ease the synthetic foundations of each chapter making easier for the student to integrate the readings being done and the knowledge acquired in this and other subjects.   
  • The theoretical reflexion and rationalization of the curriculum.    
  •   Make easier the access to the bibliography so that it can be understood by the student.


B) Practices in small groups: They will be held in computer labs, where the student has to face to a series of problems to be solved individually. The problems are related to the contents present in previous lectures.


It is mandatory:

  •    Attending classes with a participative attitude.
  •    Dairy implication and participation.
  •    Following everything this guide contains.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The final score of every student in this subject will be given by the weighted sum of the points yielded in the four blocks described in previous section, i.e.:

  • Exam of theory
  • Exam of practices
  • Participation
  • Oral Presentation

The exam of practices corresponding to the May examination session will take place in the last session of practices. The exam of practices corresponding to the July examination session will take place the same day that the corresponding to the exam of theory, just after this one has finished.

In order to pass the course, it will be mandatory:

  • To get 2 or more points (over 4) in theory,
  • To get 2 or more points (over 4) in practices,
  • To get 5 or more points (over 10) in the final score

The results of learning are linked to the evaluation system as follows:

Result 13. Evaluated in exam of theory and exam of practices

Result 34.  Evaluated in exam of theory.


Result 37. Evaluated in exam of theory, exam of practices and oral presentation.


Result 38. Evaluated in exam of practices and presentation


Result 39. Evaluated in exam of theory and exam of practices
