3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Unit I: Bases of complementary therapies

Unit II: Shiatsu

Unit III: Acupuncture

Unit IV: Nutrition and Dietetics applied to Physiotherapy. Homeopathy.

Unit V: Pilates and Yoga

Unit VI: Foot Reflexology

Unit I: Bases of complementary therapies. Scientific bases of complementary therapies. Application of complementary therapies based on evidence.

Unit II: Shiatsu. History and foundations of Shiatsu. Methodology of application of Shiatsu. Points and meridians. Practical applications of Shiatsu.

Unit III: Acupuncture. History, foundations and philosophy of acupuncture. Location of areas. Methodology of puncture. Study of 12 major acupuncture channels. Application of acupuncture in Physiotherapy.

Unit IV: Nutrition and Dietetics applied to Physiotherapy. Homeopathy. The importance of nutrition in the biological process. Microelements and macroelements. The basic diet. Nutrition, inflammation and regeneration. Nutrition and sport. The nutritional supplementation applied to the Physiotherapy.

Unit V: Pilates and Yoga. Philosophy of the holistic techniques. Pilates. Yoga. Pilates. Yoga

Unit VI: Foot Reflexology. Concept of Reflexology. Basic principles of Reflexology. Mapping of foot. Methodology of application.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Methodology and activities

Activity 1: Masterclasses to the general group.

Activity 2: Laboratory Practice classes to small groups.

Activity 3: Academic tutorial (group/single)

Activity 4: Evaluation of learning process

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Evaluation system

Evaluation of knowledge about the contents of each unit: 60%

Evaluation of practical content, whose attendance is compulsory: 30%

Classworks, cases and exercises: 10%

EVALUATION CRITERIA: To pass the subject the student must pass both theoretical and practical contents.
