4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Expository class sessions (M1, M3 and M4) will be dedicated to explain, basically, the contents of theoretical nature that are related to Modern Industrial Control.

The hours spent in practical sessions will be divided in computer-related laboratory sessions (M9), discussions (M8), seminars (M7) as well as to the development of practical activities and exercises resolution (M6 and M11) focused on processes analysis by using a software tool.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Students must overcome an exam of theretical-practical nature, which will represent a 60% of the evaluation total weight. The practical work will consist on a research experimental activity that the student will perform in a computer laboratory. It will have to be defended before an academic tribunal (mainly constituted by the subject professor). Its weight will represent a 30% of the overall appraisal. Finally, the usual attendance will be controlled, appreciating the active and participatory actitude in class, which will involve a 10% of the total mark.

It would allow to evaluate the learning outcomes: Result-13, Result-14.

The achievement of the abovementioned learning outcomes by students, contributes to the acquisition of the competencies:CB2, CB3, CB4, CB5 y CEQ4.

To pass the subject, the mark obtained  in the theroretical test has to be of 4 points, at least. If this value is not overcome, the obtained punctuation for the corresponding evaluation to the practical activities, will not be taken into account  for the final and global mark so it will be coincident with the score value achieved in the theoretical exam.
