Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

At the end of the semester the student will choose between two types of evaluation: overall evaluation or evaluation with one final exam.

The OVERALL EVALUATION modality consists of the following activities:

Attendance and Active participation: 10%. The level of attendance will be computed considering practical (reduced groups) and theoretical/problems sessions (lectures with theory groups). The level of active participation will be evaluated via the students participation and autonomous work in various proposed activities within lectures and lab sessions or through ILIAS (LMS).

Theoretical concepts: 30%. At the end of the semester (final exam date proposed by the center), there is a written exam about theoretical questions developed during lectures. In addition, the continuous evaluation related to the questions proposed as autonomous work or through ILIAS (LMS).

Exercises and case studies: 30%. At the end of the semester, there is a written final exam with the problems and practical cases studied in lectures. In addition, the development and presentation of the material related to activities proposed through the LMS is also evaluated (continuous evaluation).

Lab/computer practical sessions: 30%. This item takes into account the development of the design practices and the documentation requested.

The student must obtain at least a 4.0 mark in every evaluated aspect. In order to pass the course, the student must obtain at least 5.0 as global mark, taking into account the percentages previously described.

FINAL EXAM EVALUATION

In this type of evaluation, only one exam will be done at the end of the semester with the following percentages for the global mark:

- Attendance and participation (S1), theoretical concepts (S2) and Exercises, problems and study cases (S3): 70%.

- Practical activities in the lab/computer: 30% (S4)

In order to pass the exam, it is mandatory to achieve at least a 5.0 mark in both parts.

Those students with a 5.0 mark or above in the practical activities through the overall evaluation, don't need to do the practical part of the exam in the case that they must change to the ONLY EXAM evaluation.

In case of not passing the exam, the part with a 5.0 mark or above will be kept until the end of the academic year.
