4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Theory classes will beconducted in the main class-room, exposing theory, general examples, problems arising from the theory expounded and introductory activities.

Practice classes will be conducted outside the classroom, and will consist of two practice trips to different facilities and equipment related to power electric generation.

The aim of the collective tutoring is: A first tutorial dedicated to solving questions and problems related to the subject, and two more in which computing resources will be used  for simulating some of the contents of the course .

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Part One: Multiple-choice answer questionnaire on theoretical questions of the subject and  diagrams drawing ( 35%).

Part Two: Troubleshooting of two or three problems on the matters dealt within the course (65%).

In these tests the CEL6 and CT2 skills are assessed and analyzed if acquired learning results # 9 and # 10

Group work will focus on partial design of a power plant.

In this work the CEL6, CT2 and CT4 skills are assessed and analyzed if acquired learning results # 9 and # 10

Attendance and participation (15% of total), are distributed as follows:

Attendance and participation in theory classes 5% .

Attendance to practice trips 10% of the total.

Practice trips will enhance learning results # 9 and # 10.
