3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

There are three different types of TFG, according to the normative of the EPSJ:

 

  1. a) Engineering projects: the latter will consider real life like projects related to processes of manufacture, development and / or implementation of products, construction, facilities, services or software. These will contain the documents, reports, calculations, technical plans, specifications and budget required by the regulations, contemplating in his case, the schedule of execution.

 

  1. b) Technical studies: technical, management and / or economic studies, related to products, equipment, systems, services, etc.. The latter will address aspects of design, planning, production, management, operation and other engineering matters, as well as technical alternatives to existing designs, economic evaluations, including the corresponding discussion and analyses of the results.

 

  1. c) Theoretical / experimental work: they are a contribution to the state of the art in the field of engineering including, where appropriate, economic evaluation and discussion and analyses of the results.

 

The TFG shall consider a memory, including the annexes and chart documentation required (in appropriate formats indicated in the TFG proposal) and the oral presentation of the work.

 

The student must hand in the Register of the EPSJ the TFG for the procedure, formats and media established by the Commission of TFG (responsible for approving proposals TFG) and following the style rules published by the Centre. In any case, at least it should give a digital copy of the memory of the TFG.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The methodology is based on independent work of student guided by a tutor. It consists of the following activities:

 

  1. Tutoring: the necessary guidance for the proper realization of TFG will be received, focused on the objectives, content, and methodologies to implement, as well as the formal and specific requirements that determine the quality of the TFG. In these tutoring sessions, the TFG proposal approved by the Commission of TFG of EPSJ is presented, as well as the documents and formats to be contained by the latter.

 

  1. Undertaking of the main work: The TFG amounts to 12 ECTS and during its implementation the academic tutor will address the questions of the students, as well as give guidance to proceed with the proposed work.

 

  1. Delivery of the final report, and oral presentation of the TFG: these will be conducted as contemplated by the Rules of TFG of the EPSJ and according to the specific rules made public by the Commission of the EPSJ TFG.

 

The TFG amounts to 12 ECTS, i.e. 300 hours of student work (equivalent to 8 weeks of full-time work at the rate of 37.5 hours / week) and includes at least 8 hours of the tutor orientation (equivalent to 1 hours / week for 8 weeks). Tutoring sessions are scheduled by each tutor.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The evaluation criteria will consider:

 

  1. a) TFG aspects:

 

- Clarity in the general approach of the work.

 

- Adaptation of the structure and content of the type of work.

 

- Clarity in establishing the background and objectives.

 

- Adaptation of materials, methods, procedures and criteria used.

 

- Correspondence between the objectives outlined in the original proposal TFG (approved at the time by the Commission TFG) and discussion of the results.

 

- Adequacy of the.

 

- Employment, if appropriate, relevant and updated bibliography.

 

- Specific engineering project (in addition to the above):

 

- Use of appropriate rules and adequacy of the structure of the project as a whole.

 

- Inclusion of all necessary documents.

 

- Adaptation and correctness to the corresponding standards for the content of each of the documentary sections.

 

  1. b) Formal aspects:

 

- Quality in the work structure.

 

- Quality of the drafting technical employee and lexicon.

 

- Quality in the presentation of tables, figures and drawings.

 

- Quality in the bibliography (citations and references).

 

  1. c) Aspects related to the oral presentation of the work:

 

- Clarity in the presentation of the work. Use of appropriate vocabulary in every circumstance and proper technical vocabulary when necessary.

 

- Degree of synthesis and adaptation of the structure during the talk.

 

- Quality of the additional material used.

 

- Adaptation to the time available.

 

- Degree of maturity demonstrated in the debate following to the presentation.
