4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The students' activities over the 3-week period assigned to the course shall be:

  • Self-study of the manual and complementary references on the virtual Teaching Platform.
  • Query and doubt resolution by email or through the course's online forum in the virtual Teaching Platfrom.
  • Multiple choice / Short answer test on the theoretical content of the course.
  • Manuscript description and transcriptions exercises.
  • Written asignment containing a description, transcription and translation of an extract of a late Middle English manuscript.

 

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The following shall evaluated:

  1. The theoretical contents of the online manual will be assessed through a multiple choice / short answer test (CB6, CB10, CE9, CE10, CELI7, CG6, CT1, CT5, CT6; R48).
  2. Practical competences will be assessed through practical cases or exercises of
    • description of manuscript texts (CE5, CE8, CE10, CELI7, CG5, CG6, CG9, CG10, CT1, CT3, CT5, CT9; R29, R48);
    • Transcription and translation of manuscript texts in late Middle English (CB7, CELI7, CT3, CT5, CT9; R23, R28).
  3. The number and quality of the contributions to the course's forum will also be assessed (CB6, CE8, CE9, CG10; R27).

These exercises must be sent to the teacher by email or through the online Teachning Platform.
