3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Topic 1. Introduction. Concept and managements of Musical Heritage in Spain and Iberoamerica.

Topic 2. Musical Heritage to the Middle Ages in the Iberian Peninsula and in the Pre-columbian/Aboriginal America.

Topic 3. Musica Heritage in the 15th-and 16th centuries in Spain and the New World.

Topic 4. Musical Heritage in the 17th century in Spain and the New World.

Topic 5. Musical Heritage in the 18th century in Spain and the New World.

Topic 6. Musical Heritage in the 19th century in Spain and in the first American republics.

Topic 7. Musical Heritage in the 20th century in Spain and Iberoamerica.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Theoretical sessions: it involves the explanation of the contents of the syllabus by the professor, as referred to in the teaching guide and with the support of various teaching materials.

Practical sessions: it complements and extends the teaching methodology used in the theoretical sessions. Teacher and students will have the necessary support materials (audio-visual, computer, documentaries) to promote the debate and critical reflection. It contemplates the exhibition of works in class under the supervision of professor.

Collective and individual meetings: designed as a space for helping students and treating inividual topics. It includes the output of the classroom to perform practical field (assistance to rehearsals, concerts and musical events, conferences, visits to exhibitions, archives and libraries) with subsequent writing of a critical report.

Autonomous work of student: it includes comprehensive reading of texts, listenings, work in library, search in digital files, as well as the preparation of the presentations for the practical sessions.

 

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Students with an attendance of 50% or more may opt for the realization of a theoretical-practical work, whose contents and date of presentation will be supervised by the teacher. Students with less than the above mentioned average will have an exam.
