Unit 1. Developmental Psychology: definition, history and research methods

Unit 2. Theories of human development

Unit 3. Physical and motor development

Unit 4. Cognitive development

Unit 5. Language development

Unit 6. Emotional and personality development

Unit 7. Social development  

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The course is organized around activities in large group  (3 hours per week) and in small groups (1 hour per week). There will be also voluntary group and individual  tutoring activities. Class attendance and regular work is strongly recommended.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Students' performance will be evaluated on the basis of a final written exam (multiple choice question and/or short answer), class attendance and participation. Assessment of the activities in the small group will also contribute to the final grade. A small amount of extra credits could be obtained through participation in research activities (e.g., experiments).
