Part II. Hydrometeorology and surface hydrology. Evaporation, transpiration and evapotranspiration. Measurement of precipitation. Runnoff and streamflow: hydrograph separation, rainfall-runnoff relationships and measurement of streamflow.

Part III. Physical hydrogeology: principles of groundwater flow. Aquifers: characteristics, water table and potentiometric surface maps. Springs. Darcy's law: gradient of hydraulic head and hydraulic conductivity. Applicability of Darcy's law and specific discharge. Permeameters. Heterogeneity and anisotropicity. Flow lines and flow nets. Refraction of flow lines.

Part IV. Chemical hydrogeology. Chemical composition of groundwater, groundwater sampling and graphical presentation of hydrochemical data.
