4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Regarding classes in large groups

During the classes in large groups, mainly, lectures (M1) of the professor will be carried out, interspersing theory and general examples (M2) of the contents of each topic. Furthermore, large group discussions (M5) and exercises (M5) are include as other methodologies.

About classes in small groups

They will be conducted in laboratories (M9) and computer rooms (M10) of the IT department in which the resolutions of exercises (M11) and activities (M6) with applications will be carried out.

On collective tutoring

The group tutorials mainly consist of the clarification of doubts (M17) about the contents of the subject, both theoretical and practical, the debate (M16) among students for clarification of doubts will be encouraged, these debates will be led by professor. In addition, prior to the evaluation, comments of individual jobs (M18) will be mad

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Practices.

The practices are mandatory and are composed of four validations of practices to be held during the first four-month period and the development / defense of the report of the subject

Scores of the practical part are listed below

    Validation Practices: 5 points.
Validation 1 - Instructions DLX - Sequential Processor: 0.5 points
Validation 2 - Segmented WinDLX and Gain Processor: 2 points
Validation 3 - superscalar processor SuperDLX and Gain: 1.5 points
Validation 4 - Code optimization and gain 1 point

Report of advanced computer architectures: 1 point

Validations may only be made during the first quarter on the dates indicated in the schedule. The mark obtained in these validations will be maintained during the academic year 15/16.

If the student is entitled to the extraordinary call, the student can present the report again in order to increase the scores of the practical part.

Theory

The theory exam will consist of multiple choice questions, short questions and exercises.

Theory exam: 4 points

Other considerations:

In the validations, the instruction set and application manual in paper

A student is entitled to the extraordinary call always the student has been submitted at least three validations and obtained the highest score of 2.5 points validations.

The mark obtained in each validation practices is kept throughout the course if the student is entitled to the extraordinary call.

If the student is entitled to extraordinary call, the report may be delivered in the ordinary examination or in the extraordinary cal

In theory test exam of the theoretical contents (4 points total) will be made and should be at least (1.2 points) to pass the course.

To pass the course is then necessary to get a higher score 5 points, adding the scores obtained in each part of the course

CC11, CC14, CC5andCC9 will be evaluated in each part.
