4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

EDUCATION METHODS AND ACTIVITIES

Theory classes will be carried out by participatory lectures.

Practical classes will be carried out by practical supervision in tutorial classes.

Foreign students must have a previous knowledge and use of surveying instruments .

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

ASSESSMENT

T he assessment of the course will be carried out in the following way:

THEORY EXAM. This exam is composed by two parts: Theory (40%) and practical exercises (60%). The mark obtained in this exam will account for 60% of the final mark of the subject.

Both parts must be passed independently

PRACTICALS. Every group of 20 students will be divided in 5 teams of 4 students. Every team will develop some field works and will perform the calculations of the different practicals preparing a report which must be delivered at the end of the semester. There will be also an individual written exam in the last practical session. The mark obtained in the report (30%), in the individual exam (60%) together to the continuous assessment by the lecturer/instructor along the semester (10%) will constitute the final mark in the practicals part. This will account for 40% of the final mark of the subject.

The practical part is passed with a mark of 5,0. To attend any extraordinary call, the practicals must be passed.
