Unit I: Introduction to Mapping and Geographic Databases.

Unit II: Spatial component of Geographical Data.

Lesson 3. Representation of the Earth considered flat.

Lesson 4. Representation of the Earth Sphere or Ellipsoid considered.

Lesson 5. Map projections: concept and deformations.

Lesson 6. Geometric classification of Map Projections.

Unit III: Thematic component of Geographical Data.

Lesson 7. Thematic component of Geographical Data.

Unit IV: Cartographic Representation

Lesson 8. Principles of cartographic symbolization.

Lesson 9. The color in Cartography.

Lesson 10.- Map Composition.

Lesson 11. Cartographic labeling.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

  • Lectures theory where the agenda will be developed and proposed activities through issues, jobs,
    relationship problems, to encourage student participation.
  • The practical classes will begin with an introduction and explanation of the teacher, student participating in
    the development

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

  • S2: Mastery of the theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject.
    Competences assessed: CE10,CE16,CE17,CT2.
    Results assessed: 1,6.
  • Aspecto S3: Delivery of reports and problems.
    Competences assessed: CE10,CE16,CE17,CT4,CT6.
    Results assessed: 1,6.

Observations:

It will be necessary to pass the theory exam and practical assessment in order to pass the entire course.

To overcome the theoretical part of the course, a minimum score of 5 out of 10 in each of the two parts (into which the subject is divided) must be obteined, that is, first items 1,2,3,4,7,14 and 15; and secondly, the items 5,6,8,9,10,11,12 and 13.
