Unit 1. Introduction to financial economics
Unit 2. The time value of money.
Unit 3. Annuities.
Unit 4. Loan operations.
Unit 5. Financial statements
Unit 6. Cost of capital and long-term financial policy
Unit 7. Capital budgeting.
The theoretic concepts will be exposed by the teacher in the usual classroom. An active participation of the students is expected. The teacher will possibly inquire the students about the concepts revised in the class to assess their command on those concepts.
The clases on practical skills will be given in the computer room, using Microsoft Excel (TM).
Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support
Attendance and participation: 10%. This concept will be taken into account only for the ordinary exams (May-June).
Theoretic concepts (30%): for the ordinary exams (May-June), the student's knowledge on these concepts will be assessed by a final quiz and various quizzes during the classes. For the non-ordinary exams, there will be only one final quiz (35%).
Practical skills (60%): for the ordinary exams (May-June), the student will take one or various exercises during the classes, as well as the final exam. For the non-ordinary exams, there will be only one final exam (65%).
