First part: Principles of enzymology. Advanced study of catalysis, kinetics and regulation of enzymes. Practical enzymology. Second part: Biotechnological applications. Enzyme assays. Applications in industry and food. Inmovilization of enzymes. Enzymatic sensors. Enzymatic reactors. Third part: Clinical applications. Enzymes used as reagents. Enzymes used in clinical diagnosis. Enzymatic therapy. Pharmacological applications.
Lectures and laboratory practices taught in Spanish. Visits to companies.
Tutoring in English. Homeworks and seminar exposition in English.
Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support
It will be evaluated attendance, interest, critical spirit and participation in discussions during the lectures and guided tours to business and healthcare entities. The application of theoretical knowledge will be evaluated by solving exercises.
We evaluate the attendance and active participation in the laboratory, technical skills and the quality of results and resolution of proposed exercises.
The realization of seminars will be evaluated on the basis of the quality, clarity of exposition, argumentation, defense and the resources used.
