- DNA extraction from bacteria (phenol-chloroform)

- DNA extraction from bacterial colony

- DNA extraction from food

- Determination of DNA concentration

- DNA gel electophoresis

 

2.- Molecular identification of bacteria

- Bacterial identification by PCR and DNA Sequencing of 16S rRNA gene

 

3.-Genomic fingerprinting of bacteria

- RAPD-PCR fingerprinting(Randomly  Amplified  Polymorphic  DNA) 

 

4.- Culture independent study of microbial populations

-          DNA isolation from food

-          PCR amplification of the microbial community

-          TTGE analysis (Temporal Temperature Gradient Gel Electrophoresis)
