Biochemistry Fundamentals: Proteins and their Constituents, Nucleic Acids and their Constituents, Other Metal-Binding Biomolecules. Metal Ions Transport and Storage. Biomineralization Processes. O 2 and N 2 Biological Activation Processes. Iron containing Biomolecules: Haem-proteins, non-haem proteins, siderophores. Copper Proteins and Enzymes. Molybdenum Enzymes. Vitamine B12 and Coenzyme B12. Zinc Proteins and Enzymes. Biological role of other transition metals: Vanadium, Chromium, Manganese and Nickel. Biological role of Alkaline and Alkalineearth Metals. Lecture (Theory): Oral exposition of the theoretical contents of the course by the lecturer, using audiovisual methods
Lecture (Practice): Students perform several laboratory experiments and develop a laboratory notebook
Seminars: Oral presentations by students and resolution of exercices
Homework: Study of theoretical contents and preparation of exercices and oral presentations
