Chapter 4: The Medieval Age.

Chapter 5: Latin, Vernacular Languages and Linguistic Speculation in the XVI and XVII centuries.

Chapter 6:   Historical-Comparative Linguistics in the XIX century.

Chapter 7:   Linguistics in the XX century.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Teaching methodology:

The methodology for this subject will be based on:

  • the students’ work
  • lectures and theoretical classes
  • seminars and tutorials

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Assessment methodology:

The evaluation of the students’ theoretical knowledge and practical training will be based on three criteria:

  • 10% of the total mark will be obtained on the basis of their regular attendance at and active participation in classroom (oral contributions and exercises.)
  • 80% comes from the quality of the final exam taken by the students at the end of the four-month period.
  • 10% corresponds to the submission of assignments.
