4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Students will be provided with classnote of the topic taught during the course. They will read and discuss them in class. Classes will revolve around these classnotes, clarifying concepts, giving examples and solving practical exeercises. Simultaneusly, they will be provided with a bibliographical list and sources, suitable for the fulfilment of activities in an autonomous way.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Assessment will be ruled by Royal Decree 1125/2003 of September 5th by which the European Credit Transfer System is for official university degrees is established.

Assessment will include active participation and attendance, which will constitute 20 % rate of  the final grading. The lecturer will base this portion of the assessment on the following aspects:

  • Regular class attendance.
  • Active participation in class.
  • Participation in discussion.
  • Signing in attendance list.
  • Porfolio of activities

The mastery of the theoretical and practical concepts will be assessed through a written exam which will constitute 60 % of the final grading.

The remaining 20 % will be based on an individual paper. The following aspects will be taken into consideration: structure of the paper, delivery in time, quality of the written/oral expression in English, quality of the content, originality, formal quality of the presentation. Plagiarism will be penalized with the loss of the grading corresponding to this section.
