4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Apart from the specific approach to the different characteristics and relevant aspects defining each period within the syllabus (theoretical background), the student will have to work on the extracts selected for practice, as well as do a guided research on one of the books included in the compulsory Reading list, a pillar for their marks.

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Participation and active involvement of the students in both the theoretical and practical sessions will be appreciated (20% of the final mark). 2.Exam, comprising questions about the main authors and literary trends of the period and evaluating the students' capability tocritically analyze literary texts (15%). 3. Essay-like commentary on a book chosen by the student (65%).
