4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Lectures with big group of students

They are based in the explanation of the theory concepts, exercises and practical problems of the course.

Lectures with practical groups

They are developed in the lab, and they are based in the explanation of practical configurations of the lab equipments and their execution by the students.

Collective/Individual tutorials

The students' doubts about the theory and practical units will be clarified, and also some exercises and problems will be solved.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

At the end of the semester the student will choose between two types of evaluation: CONTINUOUS or ONLY EXAM.

CONTINUOUS EVALUATION

The continuous evaluation will be done attending to the activities previously described.

The student must obtain at least a 4.0 mark in every evaluated aspect. In order to pass the course, the student must obtain at least 5.0 as global mark, taking into account the percentages previously described.

ONLY EXAM EVALUATION

In this type of evaluation, only one exam will be done at the end of the semester with the following percentages for the global mark:

- Theory concepts and works, problems or exercises: 70% (S2 and S3)

- Practical activities in the lab/computer: 30% (S4)

In order to pass the exam, it is mandatory to achieve at least a 5.0 mark in both parts.

Those students with a 5.0 mark or above in the practical activities through the CONTINUOUS evaluation, don't need to do the practical part of the exam in the case that they must change to the ONLY EXAM evaluation.

In case of not passing the exam, the part with a 5.0 mark or above will be kept until the end of the academic year.
