4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Theoretical lessons.

The contents of this subject will be developed in this lectures.

Practical lectures.

Lab activities with manufacturing systems. As a guide will be held 5 sessions (2h per session):

Session 1. Flexible manufacturing. Students will design and manufacture a sample using a flexible manufacturing cell.

Session 2. Rapid prototyping. By means a FDM machine, students will print a mechanical component designed by theirself.

Session 3. Machining process. A numerical simulation will be conducted by the student who will also reproduce and compare the actual procedure.

Session 4. Tool-wear measurement. During this session students deal with optical techniques to evaluate the damage produced in several tools.

Session 5. Injection moulding. Students will monitories an injection process.

Seminars.

Short problem and project sessions where students will work together.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Class attendance and participation. Attendance to lab lessons will be controlled. Regarding class participation, it will be valuated according the trainer's notes.

Theoretical assessment. According to a short question list.

Reports. Lab works and reports will be evaluated.

Mark = 0.15*Attendance&Participation+0.45*TheoryAssessment+0.4*Reports.
