3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Lesson 1. Fundamentals of Computer Aided Design.

Lesson 2. The Finite Element Method Fundamentals.

Lesson 3. Physical interpretations of Finite element Method. Structural bars analysis.

Lesson 4. Mathematical interpretation of Finite Element Method. Variational formulation.

Lesson 5. Isoparametric formulation of plane elements.

Lesson 6. Shell elements Formulation.

Lesson 7. Three-dimensional elements formulation.

Lesson 8. Special cases.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The course will be develop by means of:

 

Masterful class: Basic concepts of the course will be explained by multimedia presentations, theorical expositions and examples.

Practices: Some contents will be analized by activities that need to apply the course knoledge.

Groupal tutories: short seminars to develop problems of the course topics.

Seminars: Will be deveoped from some of the course topics.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

 

Final mark=80% Final Exam + 20% home work.

 

It is mandatory to obtain at least 4 points at final exam.
