3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Unit 1. Risk and disaster. Natural processes of risk. Risk p revention and  forecasting . Early warning systems and civil protection. N atural and induced hazards maps.

Unit 2 . Intelligent systems for crisis management . Evacuation plans and real-time management . Capture, modeling and visualization of information.

Unit 3. Geospatial platforms for crisis management : map m ashups,  testimony and demand response  services and platforms for the creation of maps and contents. Examples.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The lectures will include keynote presentations of theoretical concepts of the subject and examples, as well as conferences on issues of interest.

Practical classes include practical problems supported by ICT tools in the computer classroom.

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

To pass the subject will be necessary to pass the theoretical examination and practical work of the subject independently.

The final score of the subject will be calculated tak ing into account the weighting of each of the parts ( theory and practicals ).
