3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

1. Use of models in Experimental Sciences and Geomatics.

2. Spatio-temporal data treatment. Geostatistical models.

3. Examples of natural resources modelization projects. Information and data treatment.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Lectures will involve:

- Theoretical lessons by means of master classes with student participation.

- Practice lessons based on the presentation of different projects based in the application of geomatics techniques for the natural resources modelization. In these examples, the data available, the data treatment and results will be analyzed.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The assessment has three parts: attendance, theory+exercises and practice.

Attendance: attendance will be controlled both at theory and practice lessons. It is required at least a minimum of 70% attendance.

Theory+exercises: written exam which includes the theoretical and practice contents of the subject and some exercises or problems.

Practice: the assessment is based on the submission of the projects and exercises made during the practice lessons and the actual own-developed project.

The final mark will be the weighted average of the three parts(attendance, exam and practice), being the weights 0.05, 0.30 and 0.65, respectively.

In order to pass the subject, it is necessary to get at least 5.0 (5.0 out of 10) in both theory+exercises and practice parts.
