3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Course: Methodology for systematic review, meta-analysis and meta-synthesis

Topics:

1-    Systematic reviews.

  • Types of reviews. Narrative review and systematic review.
  • Steps in systematic review. Searching strategies.

2-    Synthetizing quantitative studies.  Meta-analysis. Software for doing meta-analysis

3-    Synthetizing qualitative studies. Methods for synthesis of qualitative research: meta-synthesis and meta-study.

4-    Critical appraisal of systematic reviews. Using check-list.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

  • Lectures and discussion in the whole group
  • Practices with computers (using specific software)
  • Seminars
  • e-learning through the Universitiy of Jaen e-learning site ILIAS
