3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

In the degree of physical therapy subjects that make up the Practicum allow students to contact the health teams and meet the health care system through interpersonal relationships with students and professionals, the system and the users there of, with in order to achieve integration of the acquired knowledge and develop technical and interpersonal skills in medical equipment in continuous operation supervised by expert physical therapists in hospitals and primary care or community, and applied to specific clinical cases. Having the ability to assess, from the perspective of the physical, functional status / the patient / client, considering the physical, psychological and social aspects of it. Understand and apply the methods and procedures manual and instrumental evaluation in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Physics and the scientific evaluation of its usefulness and effectiveness. This course enables students to progress in the acquisition of the powers provided for this course and practicum in general, integrated into the health care and protected from contact with patients, health environment and real institutions.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Continued to the integration of students to the health care setting and clinical practice. Acquire adequate clinical experience to provide intellectual abilities and technical skills and handbooks to facilitate the incorporation of ethical and professional values, and to develop the ability to integrate the knowledge acquired so that, on completion of studies, and know how to apply both to specific clinical cases in hospitals and outpatient, as well as performances in primary and community care. Ability to work in professional teams as the basic unit in which the structure of uni-or multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary / professional and other staff as care organizations.

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Clinical Assessment Form must be completed by the clinical tutor at the end of each period. The clinical tutor evaluates the level of acquisition of several skills and competences of the student. Furthermore, student has to analyze a real patient using validated test and tools, reaching a physical therapy diagnostic and designing an evidence-based treatment protocol.
