3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY

This course focuses on the design and dimensioning of electrical installations using the recommendations of the Low and High Voltage Regulation.

THEORY LESSONS.

Chapter 0: Introduction.

Chapter 1.- Electric power system (as a network of electrical components used to supply, transmit and use electric power).

Chapter 2.- Classification of electrical power plants.

Chapter 3.- Electric power distribution.

Chapter 4.- Low voltage electrical installations.

Chapter 5.- Electrical machines.

Chapter 6.- Electrical power business.

PRACTICAL LESSONS.

  • Laboratory lessons:it's necessary attend practical lesson (Electrical Machines laboratory- A3-2nd floor D-257 or Electrical Installations A3-D-266).
  •  Online free software calculator for sizing of electrical installations in low and high voltage.
  • Power Plant's Technical Visits.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Theoretical lessons.

Practical lessons. It's necessary attend practical lesson (Electrical Machines' laboratory-A3-2nd floor D-257- or Electrical Installations' laboratory -A3-D-266-). Besides, it will be used specialized software for sizing of electrical installations in low and high voltage.

Technical visits.

Team work: at the beginning of our course, students must incorporate into a team group (3 or 4 persons per group) and argue with professor the aim of their article referred to one of the topic of our course. Besides, each student will prepare another one as a personal work. Finally, students will expose their own research and team work.

All these activities will be advertise by Ilias Platform (an online course offered by UJA).

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

  • Student participation will make up to 15 % of the final mark.
  • Final exam will be about theoretical and practical aspect defined during the course and will make up to 55 % of the final mark.
  • Personal and team work, practical lesson, visits and oral presentation will be worth up to 30% of the mark (one personal, another in team work and practical lessons computer-based).

The final exam will be done at the end of semester about theoretical and practical aspect defined. Besides, during the semester some technical visits will be arranged (assist is not obligatory but yes advisable ).
