3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Theoretical contents:

  • Module 1: Introduction.

Practical contents:

  • Block 1: Management systems and tools to support information analysis.

    • Functions for complex calculations.

    • The development of superannuation financial state.
    • Financial software. 

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

  • Lecture classes:

Description: presentation in the class of concepts, fundamentals, examples, etc. by using lectures, audiovisual didactic resources. To be evaluated of theoretical concepts, students will take a writing exam.

Purpose:  make easier the acquisition of knowledge and encourage the          analytical reflection about the relationships between concepts.

  • Practical classes:

Description: students will perform practical problem to learn how to use the theoretical concepts.

Purpose: the development of practical skills.

  • Collective tutorial hours or seminars:

Description:  some activities and debates about a topic of interest will be developed to deal with some concepts in depth, improve analytical reflection and  share of knowledge.

Purpose: the acquisition of knowledge and the development of practical skills.

  • Individual Homework activities:

Description:

  1. Individual activities (guided or not) proposed by the teacher to deal with some topics and skills in depth.
  2. Individual study.
  3. Evaluating activities (reports, self-assessment tests, etc).

Purpose: Improve the student individual learning.

  • Group homework activities:

Description: Activities (guided or not) proposed by the teacher to deal with some topics and skills in depth.

Purpose: improve the exchange of ideas among students, the identification and analysis of certain topics, transfer of knowledge and its critical analysis.

  • Tutorial hours:

Description: hours destined to organize the process of teaching by means of direct interaction between students and teacher.

Purpose:

  1. To guide the individual and group learning.
  2. The deal with different aspect of the subject in depth.
  3. To guide the students comprehensive education.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

  • Continuous evaluation: student participation in classroom and seminars and carrying out, explanation and debate of suggested practical cases (both in practical and theoretical classes).
  • Ordinary evaluation: writing examination of theoretical contents and reports of the practical contents, which should be defended by the students, or passing a practical exam.
  • Students who attend practical classes may not have to take the practical exam. In this case, the mark for the practical part will be obtained by means of continuous evaluation based on students reports about the practical problems and on their defense.

If student does not pass the practical part by means of continuous evaluation or does not attend the 80% of the practical classes, they will take a practical exam the same day as the ordinary exam.

  • If students want to present a voluntary exercise, it should be presented in the date indicated by the teacher and always before the end of the term.
  • The marks obtained in the term related to practical part, student participation and exercises presented are kept for the year.
  • To pass the subject students must obtain a final mark of 5 over 10 and pass both the theoretical part and the practical part (with a minimum mark of 5 over 10 in each one).
