- Protein turnover and cell growth.
- Cell protein degradation systems.
- Posttranslational modification of proteins.
- Protein sorting.
- Protein-ligand interactions.
- Introduction to proteomics: Fundamentals, techniques, equipments, and applications.
Laboratory Practice:
- Mass spectrometry equipment in the University of Jaén.
- Equipment and techniques for protein characterization in the Department of Experimental Biology of the University of Jaén.
- Introduction to ProteoRed, the Spanish Network for Proteomics.
- Effects of starvation on rat hepatic proteome by 2D SDS-PAGE. Sample preparation. 2-DE.Staining and analysis of proteins. Introduction to PDQest R (BioRad Laboratories). MS analysis. Identification of proteins and functional proteomics.
Other activities:
1) Use of database of scientific literature, 2) Standards for Ph.D degree, 3) Structure and preparation of a research paper, 4) Preparation and exposition of one oral presentation.
