1. Psychobiology of aging. 2 . Normal aging and disease prevention . 3 . Synaptic plasticity in aging. Changes in the architecture and functioning of the nervous system . 4 . Sensory and motor systems and age-related decline . 5 . Endocrine system and aging. 6 . Cortical systems in aging. 7 . Immune system and aging. 8 . Behavioral changes in aging : sleep, wake up and eating behavior. 9. Emotion and stress in aging. 10 . Neuropsychological assessment : main instruments. 11. Language in aging. Neuropsychological assessment of language. 12. Memory in aging. Neuropsychological assessment of memory. 13. Neuropsychological assessment of gnosis and praxis . 14. Assessment of the main entities neurogeriátrica and psychogeriatric pathology .

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The lectures will be supplemented by :

- Introductory practice activities

- Solving exercises

- discussions

with the aim of actively implement and contrast the difficulties of the contents hereof.

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Students should develop the proposed activities under the guidance provided by the teacher: specificity in the response , as justification for the theoretical proposals presented in the classroom , consultation and analysis of the literature .
