3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Chapter 1:  Introduction: The field of Applied Linguistics.

Chapter 2:  Applied Linguistics and Second Language Teaching.

Chapter 3:  Applied Linguistics and Translation.

Chapter 4:  Computational Linguistics.

Chapter 5:  Clinical Linguistics: The treatment of language disorders.

Chapter 6:  Terminology.

 

 

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Teaching methodology:

  1. students' work
  2. lectures and theoretical classes
  3. seminars and tutorials.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The evaluation of the student' theoretical knowledge and practical training will be based on three criteria:

  • 10% of the total mark will be obtained on the basis of their regular attendance at and active participation in classroom (oral contributions and exercises.)
  • 60% comes from the quality of the final exam taken by the students at the end of the four-month period.
  • 30% corresponds to the submission of assignments.
