4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

This module focuses on the study and analysis of literary texts (poetry, narrative, drama).  Both theory and practice lectures aim at the description of the different approaches to literature analysis and how these influence the interpretation of texts, either from a formal, cultural or ideological viewpoint.

At the beginning of the semester, the lecturer will give the students a list including the texts to be read and analysed in class.

Foreing students who wish to enrol in this module should bear in mind that this course is intended for students doing their major in English Studies.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Two written exercises to be accomplished during two practice sessions combined with an exam paper at the end of the semester. Attendance and participation will also be taken into account for the final grade.
